CBA-NY operates on a rigorous, full-day schedule designed to balance intensive, focused desk-work with functional life-skills training.
Monday – Thursday: Direct Instruction & Scaffolding
Focuses heavily on Relational Frame Theory (RFT) language programming, advanced reading comprehension, functional mathematics, functional communication, and executive functioning deficits.
Targeted instruction in social communication, perspective-taking, conversation training, and adaptive behavior in naturalistic peer contexts.
Individualized coursework across STEM (Sciences, Technology), Social Studies, expository writing, electives, and independent long-term projects.
Friday: Community-Based Generalization (CBG)
Fridays are dedicated entirely to community integration, ensuring that competencies acquired in 1:1 settings successfully generalize to natural environments. Activities include navigating public transit, financial transactions (grocery stores/restaurants), museum and park navigation, physical fitness, and structured vocational exploration.
